Project Description

On each project we were proactive and played a key role in the development of enhanced solutions. In particular, on the Emmett Street project, our knowledge of Christchurch’s soils and geotechnical issues contributed to enhanced outcomes.

This included our submission of a design change, at tender stage, for the piling methodology. Our solution of sheet piles and a raft foundation reduced the adverse effects of vibration to neighbouring properties, and was cheaper than hydraulic-driven piles. This technique utilised equipment, already owned by Seipp Construction, and eliminated the costs associated with procurement/hiring of specialist gear.

Seipp Construction’s delivery of the Emmett Street pumping station was well-planned and well-executed and characterised by our contribution to cost savings and added value.

Seipp Construction are dewatering experts. Our experience includes well point systems, large and small diameter wells and surface dewatering. We have comprehensive controls in place, including 24-hour remote monitoring of all pumps, live web access to the data of turbidity metres installed at the point of discharge and pH sensors. This system is a New Zealand first and enables immediate action in the face of any issues. We also have an extensive range of sediment and decanting binds, including oil separators.
