Our Company

From a start-up business in 2012, Seipp Construction has flourished to become a highly respected, award-winning nationwide construction company. We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built as contractor of choice for difficult projects - particularly for underground infrastructure, multi-disciplinary civil projects (below and above ground), bridge structures and marine infrastructure (such as wharves, jetties, sea defence walls and outfalls).

We’ve achieved this based on founder Peter Seipp’s vision to build a world class team of people, supported with the best resources and management systems. From the very beginning, rigorous selection and performance criteria has been applied to our growing team.

As a result, the Seipp team is a hand-picked, high calibre group with industry-leading technical expertise in multi-disciplinary civil projects, pipelines, river and marine works.

Our company ethos is based on our employees being self-motivated, passionate and productive, which results in superior outcomes for our clients.

With a focus on setting high benchmarks and a refusal to compromise, Seipp Construction has established an enviable track record of performance across health and safety, quality and environmental practice. We achieved ACC tertiary accreditation at our first attempt and have successfully gained AS/NZS 4801, ISO:9001 Quality and ISO:14000 Environmental certifications.

More recently, we’ve expanded geographically from our Christchurch base, opening a second branch in Auckland. Seipp’s Auckland-based team has already established a solid reputation undertaking projects to expertly upgrade Auckland’s infrastructure assets.

We’re proud of the reputation both our Christchurch and North Island operations have established for innovative approaches on technically challenging projects and the positive feedback received from our clients on the value added by the Seipp teams.

An organisation’s success demands single-mindedness and the collective commitment of all individuals within it.

To us, our vision statement is not just a ‘tick the box’ exercise. It drives our success by reminding us of the importance of every aspect of every project we deliver. It focuses our goals and aspirations to be the:

Everyone is kept safe, and our momentum of innovation and excellence is maintained.

Our Approach

Starting from a zero base in 2012 to build a highly successful mid- tier contracting business which specialises in technically demanding projects, has required a committed and experienced approach to business. We’ve achieved this with our absolute attention to detail, strong leadership and a commitment to implement only the best management systems.

A focus on setting high benchmarks and a refusal to compromise has enabled the business to continue to grow whilst establishing an enviable track record of performance across health and safety, quality and environmental practices.

Early on the business embraced modern, cloud- based project management systems, set up individually for each project by the respective project management team. All systems are interactive, tailored to the specific needs of each client and accessible through individual portals for all key project stakeholders if required.

Together with our systems we have developed an extensive range of procedures and policies, which under our ISO accreditations are regularly assessed and reviewed. This guarantees continual improvement and ultimately superior delivery of even the most challenging projects on time and within budget.

Our approach to financial reporting is timely, no surprises, honest and transparent.

A true strength of our business is our proven track record of establishing collaborative relationships with our clients. We strongly believe that our teams can add the greatest value when working in partnership with our customers, resulting in a profitable outcome for both parties and a high quality asset.

Our approach has led to the successful delivery of numerous high profile projects with extremely satisfied long term clients.

Seipp Construction has been acknowledged as an industry leader in previous years, by winning Contractor of the Year Awards in 2015 and 2016 for two extremely complex projects – rehabilitation of the Antigua Street Bridge and repair of the Beachville Road Seawall.

Earlier this year, in April 2022, Seipp was awarded “Most Progressive Company 2021” at the Civil Contractors Canterbury annual awards presentation evening. Additionally, our delivery of the Ashburton River Crossing project for Ashburton District Council won in the Underground Services Project category. Seipp Construction are planning on maintaining this momentum as we bring further skilled Engineers and Operators into the business and together we tackle new complex projects.
