Our Company

From a start-up business in 2012, Seipp Construction has flourished from a zero base to become a highly respected, award winning multi-million dollar player in the Canterbury construction market.

This success is based on founder Peter Seipp’s vision to build a world class team of people, and support them with the best resources and management systems. From the beginning, we have applied rigorous selection and performance criteria to the growing team.

As a result, Seipp Construction staff are a hand-picked, high calibre group with industry-leading technical expertise in multi-disciplinary civil projects, pipelines, river and marine works. The culture of the business is based on its employees being self-motivated, engaged, productive and focused on safety.

The unrivaled commitment and expertise of our team enables us to provide excellence in construction outcomes to our clients, with a focus on underground infrastructure, multi-disciplinary civil projects below and above ground, bridge structures and marine infrastructure including wharfs, jetties, sea defense walls and outfalls.

The focus on setting high benchmarks and a refusal to compromise has seen Seipp Construction establish an enviable track record of performance across health and safety, quality and environmental practice. We achieved ACC tertiary accreditation at our first attempt and have successfully gained ISO:9001 Quality and ISO:14000 Environmental Certifications.

More recently, we’ve expanded geographically from our Christchurch base, opening a second branch in Invercargill. Seipp’s Southland-based team has already established a solid reputation undertaking projects to expertly upgrade Invercargill’s infrastructure assets.

We’re proud of the reputation both our Christchurch and Southern operations have established for innovative approaches which deliver cost savings and programme efficiencies for highly satisfied clients.

Our Vision & Values

An organisation’s success demands single-mindedness and the collective commitment of all individuals within it.

To us, our vision statement is not just a ‘tick the box’ exercise. It drives our success by reminding us of the importance of every aspect of every project we deliver. It focuses our goals and aspirations to be the:

The growth and performance of our business tells us we’re succeeding in our endeavours. Key to this is our strong culture and values which underpin not just what we achieve but how we achieve it.

Managing Director Peter Seipp’s definition of culture is ‘’what people do and how they act, when they’re not supervised”.  The Seipp Construction values reflect his high personal standards for safety, accountability, professionalism and quality.  When we work in alignment with the Seipp Construction values, positive experiences are created for all stakeholders – from staff through to clients. Our Approach

Starting from a zero base in 2012 to build a highly successful mid-tier contracting business has required a robust approach to business. This has been achieved through absolute attention to detail, strong leadership and a commitment to implement only the best management systems.

This focus on setting high benchmarks and a refusal to compromise has seen Seipp Construction establish an enviable track record of performance across health and safety, quality and environmental practice. We achieved ACC tertiary accreditation at our first attempt (which is virtually unheard of) and have successfully gained ISO:9001 Quality and ISO:14000 Environmental Certifications.

Our strong performance on projects is driven by Seipp staff who are empowered to think and act innovatively, and can do so ‘secure’ in the knowledge they’re operating within an industry-leading HSQE framework.

This approach spearheads successful delivery of works based on development of superior methodologies and/or non-standard approaches. We’ve been acknowledged as industry leaders in this regard, winning Contractor of the Year Awards in 2015 and 2016 for two extremely complex projects – rehabilitation of the Antigua Street Bridge and repair of the Beachville Road Seawall.
